Join Welsh National Opera for some musical storytelling workshops, based around the fantastical characters and melodies from Mozart’s The Magic Flute. You will get a chance to sing with professional opera singers and along the way meet queens, adventurers, bird-catchers and wizards!
These relaxed sessions are suitable for all ages to learn about opera performance skills, drama direction and storytelling through music.
Sat 11 Jan: 10am - 10.45am / 1.30pm - 2.15pm
Sun 12 Jan: 10am - 10.45am / 3pm - 3.45pm
Established in 2018, WNO’s Youth Opera North Wales has expanded into two groups (ages 8-13years and 14-18years) that meet on Wednesday evenings during term time. WNO Youth Opera is open to everyone who would like to develop singing skills – you don’t need any previous experience to join and there are no auditions. You will have the opportunity to work alongside professional musicians and drama directors with performances ranging from informal sharing with friends and family to concerts and fully staged productions.
WNO Community Chorus (North) is an opportunity for adult amateur singers to unite in their love of song. We currently run two Community Chorus programmes, in Cardiff (Wales Millennium Centre) and Llandudno (Venue Cymru). Each WNO Community Chorus is brought together especially for a specific performance and is completely open to new and returning singers, you just need to sign up. This allows a range of opportunities to be part of the WNO community, at differing levels of commitment and for different types of performance.
Ask staff on the day about joining WNO’s Youth Opera North Wales and WNO Community Chorus North in 2020.
